Kathy Thompson - Job of the Week

 We are delighted to welcome one of our newest clients, painter Kathy Thompson. She comes to us from Silver Spring, MD where she  paints all sorts of vivid, European influenced imagery.  Kathy finds the bulk of of her inspiration from French impressionists ranging from Monet to Matisse. In fact it was the paintings of these 19th and 20th century "revolutionaries" who spoke to her so loudly that she made the decision to seriously pursue her painting. A prolific painter, Thompson brought us at least a dozen works last week.  As we work scanning, proofing and printing  this series one could very well feel a connection to the allure of the provençal culture. On this side of the Atlantic you might find Kathy participating with a group at  Washington, DC's International Art and Artists where she is a member. Artist Darren Guest's Art Show

From time to time we enjoy promoting the art openings of our artists.  Darren Guest whose work appears quite frequently on our scanning bed has a show at the end of this month.  Darren is a more rare kind of artist and here's what he has to say on the back of his announcement. "My Name is Darren Guest and I am a visual artist from Baltimore, MD.  I was born with Muscular Dystrophy, a disease that weakens muscles throughout the human body.  I've been in a motorized wheelchair since the age of six. New Art Marketplace in the Works

PLEASE SHARE THIS BLOG POST WITH OTHER ARTISTS!!!      Well it is almost a year after the pandemic hit and we are finally making the online gallery a reality! For many years, I tried and tried to come up with new products and services like printing on fabric, making greeting cards and designing books, but honestly these services were all very costly in both time and money and didn't profit enough to make them worthwhile. Just a few months ago, I finally realized that it wasn't new products we needed, I just needed to re-focus on the reason we are in business - to help artists sell their art and educate the world about our process. For years, many artists asked me to help them create a website. I had to decline because it takes a great deal of time to make a website and I was focused on creating products and running Archival Arts.
